George Shingler Recognized in Georgia Super Lawyers 2013

For the tenth consecutive year, George Shingler has been recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Georgia.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

Joyce Gist Lewis Recognized in Georgia Trend Legal Elite 2012

In December, 2012, Joyce Gist Lewis was named in Georgia Trend Magazine’s tenth annual listing of Georgia’s top attorneys, selected by their peers in eight practice areas.  Joyce is honored to have been recognized by her peers in the area of general practice/trial law for the fourth consecutive year.

Ashley Wilson and Christy Sloat Join Shingler Lewis LLC

Shingler Lewis is pleased to announce that in July 2012, Ashley Wilson joined the firm as an associate attorney and Christy Sloat was named as the firm’s administrator/paralegal.

Wilson, originally from Augusta, Georgia, practiced with another Atlanta-area civil firm and with a criminal defense firm in McDonough, before joining Shingler Lewis. Wilson is active in the Junior League of Atlanta where she volunteers with the American Red Cross.

Sloat worked with Shingler and Lewis for several years at another area law firm and looks forward to helping build their new practice. She is also a professional photographer who contributed several photos to the firm’s website.

George Shingler and Joyce Gist Lewis Announce the Formation of Shingler Lewis LLC

George Shingler and Joyce Gist Lewis have left the litigation boutique where they practiced together for more than a dozen years, to start Shingler Lewis LLC.

The two litigators handle disputes over business breakups, insurance coverage and employment contracts. They also represent government entities, including Fulton County and the State Department of Transportation, in liability cases. They are representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in suits against directors and officers of failed banks.
